In this episode of the Motherhood Village podcast, Nicole speaks with special guest Heather Palacios, the founder of WONDHERFUL , INC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing suicides and supporting individuals through mental health crises.

Heather shares her deeply personal journey of battling suicidal thoughts from the age of eight, into adulthood, and how this experience led her to create Wondherful. The organization sends out 'life boxes' to those in need, containing essentials and extras to remind people of their worth, encourage them to seek help and choose life. She emphasizes the importance of believing children when they express feelings of despair, addressing mental health issues directly, and the vital role of faith and resilience in her ongoing recovery.

We also touch upon how to foster conversations around mental health within families and the significance of support systems, education, and proactive measures in both personal recovery and aiding others.
